Helping Ceramic Artists Build Businesses as Thoughtful as Their Craft

Making exceptional ceramics takes years of dedication. Building a business around that work often requires a completely different set of skills.

Beyond the Kiln was created to bridge that gap

Drawing on decades of experience in fashion, retail, photography, and digital strategy, I help ceramic artists present their work with confidence, attract the right buyers, and build sustainable studios that support their creative practice.

origin story

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

My experience taught me that people don’t simply buy products—they respond to the stories, experiences, and confidence surrounding them.

When I discovered ceramics, I was struck by something.

Many incredibly talented makers had mastered their craft but were left to navigate branding, websites, photography, pricing, and marketing on their own.

The advice available was often generic, scattered, or borrowed from industries that didn't reflect the realities of a ceramic studio.

I knew there was room for something different.

Beyond the Kiln brings together creative strategy and practical business guidance specifically for ceramic artists.

Not to turn artists into marketers.

But to help them communicate the value of their work with the same care they put into making it.

Because building a successful studio isn't about chasing trends or algorithms.
It's about creating a business that allows you to keep making the work you love.

I've spent much of my career helping brands communicate value.

Hi, I'm Tracey.

I'm endlessly fascinated by the intersection of craftsmanship, storytelling, and business.

Beyond the Kiln combines my experience in branding, photography, digital strategy, and visual presentation with a genuine appreciation for handmade ceramics.

My goal isn't simply to help you sell more work.

It's to help you build a creative practice that feels sustainable, fulfilling, and unmistakably your own.
